I AM BABY 2.0, BUT MY DAD DOESN'T KNOW

Dear God,

I have now started using the iPad regularly. The other day, while using the iPad, I saw a letter my Dad wrote to you last year asking where Baby 2.0 was. (Click to see My Dad's Letter

I am writing to tell you not to be upset with Dad. I know he wasted your time by making you read a long letter filled with a hollow argument. Mom, me and, of course, you know that I am Baby 2.0. Dad, as we all know, is not the brains in the family. Forgive him for he knows not what he does.

Meanwhile, I thought of telling you a few things about my Dad which will make you realize he is a well-meaning bloke though he can be a smarty-pants at times.

Every morning when I wake up I rehearse a few words. I do this to clear my throat and to memorize some of the words I have to use everyday. You would know that learning the language down here is not easy. So I start the day lying in bed saying "Amma ... Amma ... Appa ... Appa ... thatha ... thatha ... paathi.. paathi... tutu ... tutu ... ". (you do remember tutu is Tamil slang for dog right?). Guess what Dad did? After a few days of watching me rehearse these words every morning, he turns to Mom and says "Mushu does mike-testing each morning before she wakes up!" and sniggers. Mom politely smiles along. This really upset me. But I am not able to speak yet so I could not retort. Had I been able to speak I would have said "Well Dad, my mike-testing is better than your dorsal-orifice testing each morning" (which by the way sounds like someone practicing the trumpet). When I grow up I am going to tell him and let us see who is sniggering then.

Before you get the wrong idea, let me tell you that he is a well-meaning fellow who is very affectionate. Whenever I am crying, he clowns around until I stop crying and smile. Sometimes I smile because he is funny. But most times I smile because he tries so hard.

Several more things to tell you but I am sleepy now. Will write again later.

Love
Mushu
